Deep Sky Images from pre 2022

M27 Dumbell Nebula

This was one of my very first deep space images, It was taken through my Meade 8” LX90  SCT, with an old Unmodded DSLR Camera. Autoguided with a Skywatcher ST80 and an old Meade DSI colour CCD Camera.

It consists of 10 x 3 min exposures, and the same in darks. it is cropped quite a lot as it was a small target, even for my SCT at f6.3

It was stacked with Deep Sky Stacker and processed purely in Photoshop.

M42 Great Orion Nebula

This was the second image I produced, also with my 8” Meade SCT @f10 and an unmodded DSLR Camera, 20 x 3 min exposures and just a few darks.

Autoguided with Skywatcher ST80 with an old Meade DSI colour CCD camera.

With this one I used a new Light Pollution filter which made the image very green looking, and was very difficult to process out, again stacked in DSS and processed in Photoshop.

Polaris Star Trails

This was taken on a static tripod, with a Canon 1000D DSLR Camera, with the stock 18mm to 55mm lens at approx 30mm, it was 10 second exposures taken every 1 min, then stacked in StarTrails software..
